Welcome to our college community – a place of wisdom and love. As Sophia College begins to grow, so too does my excitement to be leading the community. As a college community alive in the Franciscan charism, we will seek to live in kinship with nature, each other, and God. Laudato Si – a critical response to the ecological crisis – is the foundation of our college and commitment to integral ecology which honours the interconnectedness of Creation in all forms.
Sophia College will be a place of learning that improves the performance of every learner, with dedicated and innovative teachers who engage and continually strive to implement the most prominent and research-based methods for learning and teaching. As principal, my mission is to provide every Sophia College student with the opportunity to excel in their chosen pathway and to leave the college as confident, responsive and informed, resilient individuals who are well prepared for a rapidly changing future.
I am passionate about building a sense of community. I envisage a community which recognises that every person brings a unique wisdom to the college and where everyone feels welcome. Together we will foster a culture of inclusivity that engenders respect for all and strives for excellence in all things.
With great anticipation I look forward to developing strong links with the wider community and developing important relationships with the Our Lady of the Valley parish and surrounding schools.
It is my pleasure to invite you to be a part of this wonderful college and the journey that is about to unfold.
