Arts

Sophia College offers two Performing Arts Programs - Choir and Drama Club. As we grow in future years, more opportunities for engagement in this program will become available to students.

The Performing Arts Program aims to provide students with the opportunity to:

  • Expand upon lessons learned in curriculum classes by developing skills unique to each Performing Arts discipline

  • Engage with a range of traditional and innovative experiences that foster a passion for creativity through self-expression

  • Develop life skills such as teamwork, time management, problem solving and leadership

  • Build connections with students from other year levels who share a similar interest

  • Contribute to the college culture by adopting a commitment to service and community.

Throughout the year, each group will have the opportunity to showcase what they have learnt in the program. Performances may include but are not limited to:

  • College Masses, Assemblies, and other key events

  • Ipswich Junior Eisteddfod

  • Queensland Catholic Schools Music Festival

  • Arts Education Week Celebrations

  • Five-Minutes of Fame Drama Night
